YAEL HARNIK
Study of Tekhelet
Stencil paste-resist dyeing (Katazome), silk, indigo, wood panel
Dimensions: 20×20 cm X 4
Year: 2020
This work is Yael's first experimentation with unraveling. Her research of temporal expressions and uncertainty has led her to unravel her own dyed works. By carefully pulling the threads of the woven fabric, exposing the underlying layer through a repetitive and somatic action, Yael explores the corporeality of the fabric - its bare, fragile state.
